Hydraulic dock levers
The hydraulic dock levers that we have used for our warehouse consist of three metal parts:
- The first metal part is the main supporting structure, which is firmly connected to the static parts of the building
- The second metal part, which is the biggest part of the main bridge, it is mobile and it is articulated to the fixed part
- The third part, the metal utility portion of the main bridge, it is mobile and it is articulated to the large cell portion of the bridge
- The construction is sturdy and can accommodate dynamic loads of 6 tons and static loads of 10 tons
- The movement of the mobile parts is achieved by single-acting hydraulic rams and the ramp can be stopped at different heights and positions
- The construction’s height is 60 cm and can be moved down to 40 cm and up to 60 cm from point zero
Cargo Handling Equipment (CHE)
Safety First
Safety has been a major concern throughout the materialization of “The HUB” Project. All features have been carefully selected and implemented according to EU standards and norms and the entire facility is a strictly non-smoking one.
The building features
If so needed, immediate evacuation of the building can be performed through the nine emergency exits that cover the entire perimeter of the building and lead to open air. Emergency lighting in case of power stop, as well as, emergency exit signs run through the entire facility. The charging and parking area of the electrical CHE is a very important issue when it comes to safety. It has been proven through the years that the specific area is usually the centre of a fire break. For this reason, our charging and parking area is totally independent and secluded from the storage area. Moreover, the walls and paints used are fire-resistant.
The selection of cargo handling equipment (CHE)
All our electrical CHE is brand new and it is purchased through the official Toyota dealer. It is all equipped with the Toyota System of Active Stability (SAS) which provides verification of dynamic stability. Lately, Toyota SAS was tested by independent organizations and achieved a distinction in providing a safe, healthy and productive work environment through high-quality materials, handling products, services and solutions. (SAS-excels-in-comparative-test). Moreover, all CHE are fully insured by Toyota for maintenance coverage and immediate replacement in case of malfunction, offering us the benefit of 365 days of guaranteed operation.
The shelving assembly
A ductility report was conducted in order to certify the safest environment for both staff and cargo. The entire assembly was simulated as a 3D construction. Phasma dynamic analysis was used. All presumable deformations, pallet drifts, endurance and stability checks have been made. The materials used for the shelving construction contribute to a heavy-duty assembly with a weight capacity of 1.2 mts per pallet place.
The fire protection systems Automatic fire detection systems, manual fire announcement system, automatic sprinklers system, permanent independent water supply system, fire extinguishers, fire hose stations, fire escape tools stations. The entire fire protection system operates under electric and diesel motor engine for total coverage in case of power cut.
The equipment
Our warehouse staff is equipped with appropriate uniforms, shoes, helmets and luminous vests. Relevant safety ambience is necessary for entrance clearance within the storage facilities.
The generator
Power failure? No worries! An independent diesel generator set is located within the outdoor perimeter which automatically supports the whole warehouse and office operation. The generating set consists of two parts, an internal combustion engine and a generator. Its use is solely to avoid the consequences of a power blackout.
The security systems & CCTV
Motion detectors, magnetic contacts and sirens cover the entire indoor and outdoor perimeter. The outdoor area is fully covered by infrared beam pillars which create an impenetrable “wall”. 24hrs coverage by a Signal Security Centre and security guard patrols reinforce the safety zone.A central signal station monitors the security systems 24/7/365. The proper function of all systems is monitored constantly. Digital CCTV recording cover all the facility on an ongoing basis.
Warehouse Entry Procedure
- No admission to Warehouse shall be granted to unrelated persons.
- Smoking is prohibited in all indoors and outdoors perimeter of Hub Logistics facilities.
- The client, as the owner of the goods stored at Hub Logistics Warehouse, has the right to indicate any persons authorized to access the warehouse and to verify the place and method of storage of his/her goods, and the way of performing commissioned operations by the Contractor.
- Any requested visits by persons authorized by the Client to Hub Logistics Warehouse shall be notified in writing (in an electronic form, e.g. email) at least two days before the suggested date of the visit.
- The visit notification shall contain:
- A list of persons authorized to conduct the visit on behalf of the Client (first and last names);
- Suggested date of the visit (day and time);
- Purpose of the visit;
- Estimated duration of the visit.
- Within 24 hours, Hub Logistics Sa will respond to the visit notification by email and confirm the possibility to conduct the visit on the suggested date or indicate another date, as close to the suggested date as possible.
- All visits by persons authorized by the Client may be conducted only in the presence of the Warehouse Manager or any other authorized person indicated by Hub Logistics Sa. Such a person has to ensure that the visit fulfils the objectives of the visit set by the Client and that the visit does not interfere with (or impact in the slightest degree) the regular operations of the warehouse.
- All visitors upon arrival should sign in Hub Logistics guest Book and carry a proof of ID.
- Photo shooting and video recording is prohibited without prior consent of the Warehouse Manager or any other authorized person indicated by Hub Logistics SA.
- In order to ensure the safety and smooth process of the visit, all participants shall comply with the safety procedures applicable at the warehouse, with all health and safety regulations related to visiting the warehouse, and with all instructions given by the Warehouse Manager or another person authorized by Hub Logistics Sa related to movement within the warehouse area or performance of any other activities related to fulfilling the objective of the visit.
- In case of alarm, visitors need to comply immediately with the instructions of the Fire Safety team, remain calm, and leave the premises following the safety lights to the nearest emergency exit. Detailed evacuation intstructions are placed at the entrance of the building.

Green Factor
Waste management is a highly complex case, which should take into consideration many different parameters, such as:
- Natural and urban environmental protection
- Energy and natural resources saving
- The development of environmental consciousness to citizens and companies
For these reasons, we recycle all recyclable material such as paper, glass and metal contributing in a valuable way to the local effort of our community. Appropriate bins are used for the daily collection and separation of the materials which eventually subsume to the city’s recyclable waste chain.
Low consumption lighting!
Electricity saving is achieved by minimizing the consumption that derives from lighting, which is in most cases the main electricity-wasting factor. Low consumption lighting has introduced an innovating technology allowing us to reduce by 1/3 the electrical consumption from indoors and outdoors lighting.
This has resulted not only to cost saving but, also, to the environmental protection and the reduction of carbon dioxide and other pollutants, which eventually contribute to global warming.
Low absorbance windows!
We used reflective low-absorbance double glass windows filled with special gases in the gap in between. This practice largely limits the heat loss during winter time and the temperature increase inside the building during the summer months.
As a result indoor premises have a limited need for heating in the winter and for cooling in the summer.
Rainwater management system!
Drinking water is one of the world’s most vital natural resource and the need to protect it is paramount. Due to pollution and excessive use, it is becoming more and more evident that drinking water is a limited resource. It was for this apparent reason that during the construction of the establishment it was decided to create a rainwater tank. Having the future generations in mind, it is simply a necessity to protect our supplies. There are many economic and environmental benefits from installing and using a rainwater management system. Rainwater can be used effectively in watering gardens, as well as, indoor and outdoor cleaning.
Eco-colours for the entire building!
Green paint was used at the interior and exterior of the building. Eco-colours have the slightest impact on environmental pollution throughout their life cycle; from the extraction of raw materials, the production process, the packaging, the distribution, the use and application, the duration until the final waste disposal. Green colours contain low levels of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), which are responsible for:
- Increasing the amount of ozone in the troposphere which leads to the creation of photochemical pollution (known as “fallout”)
- Aquifer pollution, if aromatic compounds are contained, which are eventually deposited to the environment
- Contributing to the “dilution” of the ozone layer in the stratosphere
- Contributing indirectly to the greenhouse effect
- Causing, after chronic use, respiratory problems
- Affecting, after chronic use, the human nervous system
The Company
Vigor Trading SA is a company focused on commodity wholesaling.
In terms of covering the entire supply chain, it was soon proven that wholesales trading would be the key factor for providing an integrated service and achieve the maximum customer satisfaction.
Vigor Trading SA operates as a supplier, reseller and distributor of raw materials in the Greek and Balkan market.
Although our main field of expertise is industrial raw materials wholesaling, for the last 3 years our trading operation is geared towards supplies of goods on behalf of international humanitarian organizations.
It should be mentioned that our extended knowledge of the market and the well established network of suppliers in the domestic market derives from 40 years of experience as ship chandlers, which used to be the field of our first family business in the 70’s.
Using the above competitive advantages, Vigor S.A. has achieved to supply a wide range and a significant volume of commodities, such as equipment, personal hygiene items and dry foods which were delivered as humanitarian aid for refugees.
